Assessment of Spray Drift with Various Adjuvants in a Wind Tunnel

چکیده

When pesticides are sprayed, a significant portion of the droplets drifts away from target. Using an adjuvant in spray liquid is easy option for reducing droplet drift because there no need to make any changes sprayer. The objective study was determine effects seven commercially available adjuvants (Surfeco plus, Starguar, Kantor, Sterling, Control, Control WM, and DUO) with varying active ingredients on size, surface tension, viscosity. Since these properties affect formation, were evaluated terms their drift-reducing performance wind tunnel at various speeds (2.0, 3.5, 5.0 m/s) pressures (3, 4, 5 bars). ground airborne components evaluated. With use patternator, potential measured; drift, polyethylene lines that stretched along cross-section area heights employed. number deposits tracer dye–adjuvant mixture sprayed measured via fluorometric methods determining potential. test results showed Duo containing polymer blend, which had highest dynamic viscosity (4.27 mPa.s), increased Dv0.5 diameter up 192 ?m 3 bar nozzle XR11002. This reduced (Dc) by 60.53% compared tap water. maximum reduction percentage (DPRP) obtained as 85.76% Surfeco plus organic silicone pressure velocity m/s. considering drift-reduction used, it found significantly spraying

Spray Mix Adjuvants for Spray Drift Mitigation

Numerous drift reduction adjuvants and spray deposition aids are available to applicators of crop production and protection chemicals. Performance of many of the newly introduced drift control adjuvants has not been well documented for aerial application. Since there are no product labeling or efficacy regulations for these adjuvants, applicators must rely on experience or information in the te...

Influence of nozzle type, nozzle arrangement and side wind speed on spray drift as measured in a wind tunnel

Spray drift is a great concern because of environmental consequences of agricultural practices. Many studies were conducted in wind tunnel (Miller, 2011; Nuyttens, 2007; Herbst, 2003) mainly focusing on the definition of quantitative deposition on collectors at different distances or heights according to (ISO 22856, 2008). In most cases, only one nozzle positioned frontally (wind direction perp...

An Investigation on Performance of Shrouding a Small Wind Turbine with a Simple Ring in a Wind Tunnel

Ducted wind turbines are a kind of small wind turbine having a diffuser or any other shape around the rotor which increases the air flow through the blades and absorbs more power. In the present study, a small wind turbine was ducted with a relatively simple ring and its performance was investigated in a wind tunnel. The duct is shaped using rolling steel sheets on a sloping surface and finally...
